I finally culled my holiday happy snaps to a few that I'd be happy to share - my web gallery is a lot bigger, but mostly family group shots and the like, too boring for this forum :)

To make it manageable, I'm splitting it up into several themes, and hoping to post a couple of them each night (although since I've already done all the PP work, maybe I'll post the whole lot by tomorrow.

Any comments and criticism welcome - I realise that I am just a beginner, but I am learning with every photo I take. Some things I still have to learn, like knowing when to grab the opportunity for a good photo. Too often, I'll be caught napping with my camera in the bag etc when something happens. As such, my best photos tend to be of things that can't run away easily... like buildings :)

Which is tonight's first theme! Most of these shots are with the Nikkor 18-70 @ 18mm. Click on the thumbnail to pop up a larger version of the photo....

Petronas Towers in KL - These buildings were so damn tall, it was a trial to get them to fit in the frame! Had to walk a ways before I got anything decent....

KL Tower - Taken not far from the last photo

Singapore - taken from beside the Singapore River

Also Singapore, but I'm not sure which building (they sure build 'em tall over there)

Hi,

About 8 years ago I was the Sth East Asia Sales & Marketing Manager for the company that suppplied the Air Con Chillers into the Petronas Towers in KL. So I got to spend a little time their in my weekly travels through Asia. Is is a fantastic building to photograph. My old Kodak DC50 (my first digital cam) took many pics of the building. I enjoyed looking at your photo's of the tower. Bought back a lot of fond memories.
