Some snaps from Kurnell.

Been a while since I've posted here, but thought I might post some snaps I've taken recently with my little PHD Canon A80 (can't afford the illustrious DSLR just yet) :) Went for a ride out to the Botany Bay NP out at Kurnell to pass some time, here's a few of the photos I took.

Click the pics for larger versions!

Panorama of the cliffs at Cape Solander (stitched with Autostitch);

A rock over the cliffs;

An infra red shot of the cliffs (tried to WB off grass for a colour shot, but no grass in the shot made it look awkward);

Some shrubbery;

The photos are a little soft, I had a few filters stacked, and a UWA lens adapter which made the edges really soft. Any comments/critiques are welcome, I'm more into sports photgraphy so everything else is new to me :!:

I'll have to take some decent shoes next time and take a walk round to the light house at Cape Baily, the walks about an hour so the sign says.

#2 - for me - the rock is amazing as I can see an animals face. The mouth, nostrils and even an eye socket. :)

G'day,
The first pano's good but the curvature of the horizon catches the eye, don't know if that's intentional or not, might be worth a play with the spherize command in PS (if you use that)...

Chris is right about the animal in #2, and the stubbies I've had this arvo have nothing to do with it :lol:

Like the infra-red shot but looks B&W to me :? Also, that looks like it would be a great spot to wander down to those rocks for some nice foreground subjects...

Hmm, yeah the pano and the IR shot do seem soft :?

Nice shots

#1 as mentioned before, the curvature really standsouts, this can either be a good thing or a bad thing, I think you also managed to get someone backpack (maybe your own?) in the shot, I'd try to clone it out, as its a little out of place.

#2 While I like it at first, to be honest my eye quickly runs out of things to look at, so only keeping passing interest

#3 My favourite, really like the mood and atmosphere in this one, dark and brooding.

Looks like a rodent mouth :wink:

My fav is the UV shot but some of the rocks are a bit soft. Is it the nature of such photography?

The last shot with the shrubs is really great. There are lots of colour in the greenery and sky. nice

I think it's my camera, the A80 and IR aren't the best partners. I've seen some awesome IR shots from D70's. The main issue with the A80 is apart from being a P&S and being generally crap, when you whack the R72 filter on it, the sensor seems to have a hot spot in the centre. Apart from that, focusing is hard to do due to non-existant AF, and focus at greater distances on the A80 isn't too good.
