I just downloaded the OptikVerve plug-ins that you mentioned and it looks extremely good... You probably have these already, but I noticed that there are 12 additional sets of effects that you can download in addition to the main software...

edit: on my home calibrated monitor the highlights don't exist... ditch the last critique

You have captured these pelicans brilliantly. Without doubt, some of the nicest pelican shots I have seen in a while. The birds are sharp, the DOF fantastic, the symmetry perfect and framed beautifully. You certainly have the 'eye' for this type of photography and as with your Narrabeen lakes shot I critiqued, your work is stunning.
