Tonight was a very unusual golden sunset..

When I turned around, this is what greeted me..strange colours for this time of year.

Big V, love the Golden sunset, it really is golden and lovely to look at.

The double rainbow, while a nice capture (and a rarity) doesnt do much for me... it seems a little washed out... (perhaps a bit of PP could boost it, and give it a bit more wow factor).

Thanks for sharing!

Hi BigV I like the sunset, the silhouette of the trees frame it well.

Cheers,
Owen.

The pano treatment of the sunset really does work. Nice.

The golden sunset is absolutely amazing! :D It belongs on a wall as a large pano print.

Big V - both great shots.

I would not alter the rainbow shot at all as it is totally representative of a secondary rainbow.

The secondary bow is always lighter and the colours are reversed. The seconday lies 9 degrees beyond the primary and it is broader but is lighter because, although it has 43% of the primary brightness, light is spread over a greater area.

Chris, I agree that the rainbow should not be altered as that is how it looked - very different colours to normal, alot more pink in the sky and that is why I captured it.

Nice sunset and rainbow. Incidentally...I hear it's not possible to take rainbows in black and white...though it may be possible to covert to black and white if captured originally in colour. Anyone got any further info or ideas on that?
