The face is quite cute but bats are dirty disease-ridden critters. Shudder. Good find though. Was it being noisy? Wish my girlfriend would be my flash light assistant. Lucky you!

NO !!!!!! Shall I put on my greenie hat???? They are intelligent, social and VITAL for the pollination and germination of countless numbers of Australian trees - especially in rainforest environments....

Great shot, Rel. In the last few days a couple of bats have taken up residence in a tree outside my bedroom window. They are fairly noisy with their sqeaking. Sounds like domestic arguments going on between them.

I didnt know that about the polination aspect of the bats Rel, bats are indeed remarkable and important animals. However, they still give me the heebie jeebies.

It probably stems from a friend at work who did a lot of study on the Australian Bat Lyssa virus in Queensland and the stories about bat diseases he told me.
