The face is quite cute but bats are dirty disease-ridden critters. Shudder. Good find though. Was it being noisy? Wish my girlfriend would be my flash light assistant. Lucky you!

Willy, thanks for taking the time to look, and to comment, but
  :?
bats are dirty disease-ridden critters

NO !!!!!! Shall I put on my greenie hat???? They are intelligent, social and VITAL for the pollination and germination of countless numbers of Australian trees - especially in rainforest environments....
Sorry.... I'll step away from the keyboard.
take a breath....
ok, sorry, but they are actually a pretty important part of the environment - forgive me for my ranting?

And as for flash assistant, ask nicely ;)

Thanks again
Rel

Great shot, Rel. In the last few days a couple of bats have taken up residence in a tree outside my bedroom window. They are fairly noisy with their sqeaking. Sounds like domestic arguments going on between them.

I didnt know that about the polination aspect of the bats Rel, bats are indeed remarkable and important animals. However, they still give me the heebie jeebies.

It probably stems from a friend at work who did a lot of study on the Australian Bat Lyssa virus in Queensland and the stories about bat diseases he told me.

Sorry to come down on them 8)
