got this a coupla months ago. found this when moving my stuff to another host. BTW, for anyone else damaged by the pixspot issue, the dreamhost option kindly offered by mhd (thanks mate) is now even better,
20gb available. handy for offsite backup of whatever you wish!!
Back to this image,
I Liked the tail position.
Originally rejected because of the stick in the background
and the hottish bit on the head.
Decided to post anyhow in the absence of anything else.

handheld 80-400vr @400, sb800 full frame but cropped to vertical

Steve knowing how flighty these birds are that is a really good capture, and I like the pose.

I think it's.... superb! My personal opinion is that it might look better with a tighter crop, but it's still a good shot, given that those birds never seem to sit still.

the day I got this, I spent ages at the spot where I wanted the wrens to go,
I got heaps of females but not as close as this, but only this shot of the male, and even then he wasnt in the best position.

Steve I was camped at Sundown once and there were hundreds of the little buggers in all their splendid finery. Superb is a good name for them.

I like it too Steve - though I would shave a little off the sides. You've done your own critique about the head highlight but, hey, you got the shot and that's the main thing.

Beautiful Steve = I wouldn't give a rats about the blown highlight if I got the shot - I've never been able to get a good one of a Superb blue - I'm jealous
Congrats
