2nd and last Spit Bridge shot

I did a pano of the Spit bridge, about 730kb. I think the easiest way to show it is by giving a link to the page on my website, which is in it's infancy. (There's not much there.).

The photo was sitched with "The Panorama Factory", and the photo was taken with my Tamron 70-300mm instead of a wide angled lens. :D Well, why not? :P

Thanks John, I intend to. :) It will print at 55" x 13.something" without interpolation. It should be fairly sharp. :) I just have to find the money for a custom frame.

I ride my motorbike over the Spit Bridge in peak hour twice daily and the cops still aren't there checking the T3 lane at night....

Fantastic Shot. Definately has to be framed and placed on the wall.

Cheers

Doug - how many images? Can't see any obvious joins which shows the beauty of both your photo skills and Pano Factory.

What really impresses me about this pic is not just how fantastic an image it is, but how well exposed it is given the lighting variations you had to deal with.

Great work with the lens used!!!! I have the same lens and the images I get from it are horrendous......got it in a kit when I bought my D70.

I am waiting to be able to afford the 70-200mm VR......then I can get rid of the Tamron!!!!

Hi stubbsy, Pano Factory did a brilliant job. This is so far the only pano I have done, and I'm pleased it worked first time. I'll admit I didn't really know what I was doing. I knew I needed to overlap, but didn't know how much. Some photos were overlapped alot, some not much, it's a good thing that this doesn't seem to be critical. Pano Factory knew what to do. :) I used 10 photos for this shot, but I am sure it could be done in about 6 photos. As I said, some of the overlaps were significant. Photoshop took care of the exposure. I really didn't do much. :) I wasn't overly excited about pano photos before, but I'm really itching to do more of these.

To those that have trouble with the Tamron 70-300, you need really good (bright) light when taking photos handheld. It's quite a good lens with enough light and fast shutter speed. In lower light like this Spit Bridge photo - BENRO TRIPOD! :)

Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone. :)
