The 2nd one is awesome but I think you could slightly enhance it by cloning out the darkness in the top left hand corner....BRILLIANT tho...you've done well matey!!!!

Thanks Geoff. Now that you have pointed it out to me I agree with the dark area. I'll have a play later.
Shutterbug, thanks for teh comments. I was about 60 to 70cm away, no tripod. Had to move around a lot. The bugger wouldn't sit still for too long

Thanks Slider, I have no experience in Macro. The pictures looks great, it has that pop factor
Will have to invest in a macro lens soon

Great shots! You must be a patient man to try and take pics of dragonflies. Hope you have a printer to do them justice.

Excellent macro shots! Well done. They are of a quality suitable for publication in a technical journal, magazine or book.

Whole series is great, but the first one is excellent!
I think I need a longer macro, my 100mm just doesn't let me get close enough without scaring them!

Mark - I was impressed by the exceptional quality of these when I started reading this thread. Now I'm also amazed at your technique as well having read that these were HAND HELD

Beautifully taken pictures Mark. Absolutely love the colour and sharpness and handheld to boot

#1 and #2 are my pick. You gotta love that 200 F/4 Micro. I think I'd sell a kidney for one

I'm sure it's only a matter of time for the 'flying one'
cheers

Thanks for all the great comments folks. I am eagerly awaiting a new Sigma 180 Macro from Birdy. I just hope it can at least get close to the Nikkor

Wonderful shots. Truly wonderful. I've tried and failed to get shots of dragonflies so I take my hat off to you.
