Well after being a bit crook for a couple days i was on the mend and Lisa said i could go out,LOL so i did not wait around and grabbed me gear and off i went to the speedway. They had speedcar's, AMCA titles, stocks and sporty's all the usual no sprintcars and figure 8's but i didn't hang around for them was 11pm as it was. Anyhow here are some out of the many i took. All with D2x and Sigma 70-200
While we were waiting for the sun to drop a bit as it was in the drivers eyes we were plagued with these birdies who just came and sat in the trees and made lots of noise as they do, the sky was just filled with the bugger's, now couldn't i have had some fun with a 12 gauge.
Cheers
John

Im liking the third one the most, the one without the white wall in the background (or covered with clay).

Hi Johnny, haven't been on for a while, but thought I'd chime into one of your posts. So you gotta D2X, mate! Awesome stuff!! You certainly make the Sigma sing with those great, sharp shots! I'm going to try to get posting again soon. Got a few street racing shots in NZ Christmas time. Crazy stuff! Cheers, Jase.

Very impressive BBJ - you've gotta be happy with what you've achieved over the last year!

Leon, i think i am happy with what i have achieved in what i have got considering that i only work casual so dont have a full time income coming in ( just as well ) or i would have lots more gear. I think my shots are ok but have not done a lot of creative shots as most is based for sale, but this has contributed to getting gear and supporting my habit.
I should really try harder and be more creative but i am stuck in a rut in supplying to demand, which probably makes me a bit lazy. My workflow keeps me busy for awhile as i would process so many pics but dont do much unless i get orders but i also have most of my days pics onsite that evening of the event with 300+ shots. My website has become sort of a local stock image site, so it seems but yeh well i still get orders from meeting some time ago.
Ok still lots to learn as there are so many things i have not tried, as concentrated on my motorsport, so who knows i just could pull my finger out and have a go.
I am Happy

Hi John,
Excellent series as usual. The last one is great also with the birds. I'd also be interested to know what flash settings were used.

Jeff and Alex, these were taken early evening under daylite. I did do some with flash but yeh i still hate it and dont think the 250 sync on the D2x is all what it should be were the D70 is 500.
I used GN mode and set to like 15 to 20 meters, i still hate using flash and get discouraged when it gets dark.
