Just some upclose shots of a couple of shells we collected.

The blue background is the banister of the verandah at the cabin we stayed in.

Deb,

To be honest most of these didn't work for me, the first one was good, nice and sharp on the main shell, I'd probably would prefer not to have the shell top right.. it's not really adding to the shot. But it was defintely my favourite.

(please don't take these the wrong way) but the other shots (for me atleast) could of been better composed/framed in a number of them I feel the crop was too tight, and also the DOF was very restricted in a number of these shots.

I must say compartively your beach shots and landscapes / stairs.... are much stronger to me as a viewer of your work then this series or shell shots.

I'm feeling much the same as Craig on this one.

The DOF is quite weak, the compositions aren't all that good, and I'm going to add that I don't honestly think there's all that much that is interesting about the images or their subject matter.

I agree with Craig that your landscapes I saw earlier today are easily a lot stronger than what's here.

That's fine, please don't apologise for stating how you feel.

These were taken with an Olympus, in macro mode, thus the small depth of field.

I rarely move things to create an image, I take what I see. These were how the shells/cuttle fish were placed after the kids had put them there.

Thanks for the input and your honesty. It all helps.
