Beautiful shots with lovely colour. I particularly like the Grecian columns, #7 i believe, great vivid blue sky backdrop, the sharpness and colour contrast of the columns against the deep blue sky and interspersed clouds. It reminds me of a typical scene in ancient Greece. Where oh where are the vestal vergins?
Taken with the 12-24 I suspect?
cheers

Kevin - great pics but can you name all of the people in #1.

Moggy - been to the same theatre in Cornwall back in the ’60’s :)

Looks like a maxi-meet with that crew  Love the one of the columns reaching into the sky, great angle, good contrast and color saturation too, very imposing...

Okay…

Finally got around to sorting out a few images from the 80 or so I took on the day. Many of my subjects have already been posted either here or in similar threads, and my fellow travellers have done a far better job of the captures than I could, so I won’t bore you with repeats. I do, however, have a shot of the waterhole that is similar to others…

It was certainly a great day for varied photographic opportunities thought the predominantly harsh light played havoc with exposures – as many of us found out the hard way.

Hey Mitedo, Great shots - I really like the columns/sky shot - very nice. :D Also good to see a group mugshot and put some names to faces.

Manta - that water looks soooooooo cool and refreshing - did you all resist the urge to swim? I really like your palm frond shot also, very, um, running out of adjectives here.... rainforesty? Oh gawd, I give up. Great shots!

Kevin,

Love the yellow flowers and columns shot. Spot on framing on the columns shot.

Manta,

Really liked the Lunch Stop and Palm fronds shots!

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Thanks Kinetic - I wanted to have a swim (and I reckon I wasn't the only one) but we were already too short on time. Next time...

I wasn't looking for the palm shot but spotted it when I was off the track while looking for snakes and spiders. No snakes but a few nice spiders!

Thanks Dion - pity you couldn't make it. I'm sure you would have some stunning shots to show for it.

I'd say you all had a top day and a good rollup. The standout shots from Kevin's are #4 of the old buildings, #7 (an inspired composition Kevin with the warm colours and strong lines of the columns against the cool tones and soft clouds of the sky), and the last shot of the amphitheatre. Of Simon's #2 (the less than majestic looking Majestic with a lone dove!) and #3 do it for me.
