Lovely striking portraits. You have isolated the subject well against the deep blue. Probably wouldn't hurt spending a bit more time on PP and clone out some of those blown highlights on the subjects.

What settings on the D70 Matt? Did you use reflector for fill?
cheers

Great stuff Matt, and good to see you back and posting... even if its just while you hide from the inlaws. Nice style and great PP work...

Blown highlights ??? pffffttt its the beach, there is always something blinding me at the beach.. I think the PP is great as it stands

G'day,
Great color saturation in all these, was a polariser used?

#1, Great pose from a good angle, terrific glowing light around the subject gives it a very powerful feel...
#2, Not sure on what to offer on this one...
#3, Striking pose with great background and combination of colors...
#4, Great fun summer moment
#5, Maybe if the water was being poured over his head with water splashing around etc..?

Considering how strong the sun looks, the shadows aren't distracting, seems like good PP.

Sorry I can't offer much, just thoughts :)

Great shots, I like 2,3 and 4, very saturated sky and nicely composed.

Matt

Good to see some new work from you.

#1 - great, but there's something on the lower right edge (leaves?) to crop or clone

#2 - typical pasty englishman  - like the colours in this one

#3 - the weakest for me. Not a very flattering angle

#4 - brilliant idea and execution

#5 - almost perfect - would be better if we saw him tipping it over his head or maybe shaking droplets out of his hair

Thanks for the comments people.
I've been a bit lazy with #1 - I saw that distration lower right and counldn't be bothered to clone it out at the time. I'll go back and fix it.

I agree that the last one would be better if he was pouring it over his head or something - I should have prompted him to do so.

Thanks again guys.

All great shots, but the second last is stand-out. Love your work here.
