again taken with the 17-85 IS hand held

and this one breaks all the rules of composition but I like the effect of how the jetty leads your eyes all the way to the corner and then the building drags it back to the centre..

Hi mate. I agree the jetty shot does look cool. Despite the objects in the background being in the distance, they're still very much an important part of the image.
Cool shots.
G'day BV,
Love the tomes and colors in those first two shots, is the horizon curved in #2 or is it just me ![]() Lie the third one too, just wondering whether having all of the railing on the right hand side within frame rather that chopping a bit off (has this been cropped at all?), might be just me again probably ![]() ![]() Aka Andrew
G'day BV,
Sorry mate, I was thinking the other way, in that if the original shot was cropped for posting, I'd try to get more of the railings on the right hand side into the frame. That looks like a nice spot to try once the lights along the jetty and along the shoreline are on... Aka Andrew
Number 1 and 2 do it for me, in particular number 2, this is maybe the second shot I've seen posted recently where the sky and the light up clouds look more like a renaissance art work then they do a photograph, love the affect, love the image.
storm approachingwell done Big V - I'd like to catch up some time and pick your brain on capturing these type of pics. I also went out in the storm last night - but didnt come home with anything resembling these pics. I woke up feeling weather beaten tho after a trip down to the Bay.
I now have 10 days off and have been to the library for a few more references but need to just get out there and take more photos - hard with a young family but at least with all these days off I can now process some of my pics for critiquing - cant wait to get off dial up!! A Merry Adelaide Christmas to you! cheers R2
