Great work Nosh, I live close to Lugarno and we have been hoping to take a trip to visit the lights, but we are told parking is awful, I guess I'm quickly running out of time so I should do it tonight if I can. I love the fresh perspective of the Xmas Tree in the darling harbour fountain, great creativity. The light shows are bloody impressive but I often step back and wonder if the money spent couldn't be better used else were around Xmas. But the kids do love it, and if it helps promote the true spirit if Xmas (which some do) not the commericalised side then I guess its a good thing.

Craig,

Yes Parking is awful, but its worth the walk. Money is becoming a problem and I think it is surely one of the reasons that this is the last year these lights will be on at Maple St. So do try and get there tonight.

Man... I went on a little excursion... took all my gear (big mistake) got stuck in traffic (big mistake), thought it wasn't too far from the lights so thought I'd walk and send katie home (bigger mistake) walked about 3 kms with tripod and all an sundry... starting seeing some lights, so shot a few handheld, high ISO (1600) before I got to maple street... didn't change ISO once I got it on the tripod(big mistake again), then trusted some local that sent me on a wild goose chase to places that had NO lights........

anyways I have a few shots I was going to post, but Pixspot seems to be broken right now...

Nosh, I hope you don't mind if I post my two shots in here, seems a waste to start my own thread given the end result of my photos.

Craig

Interesting story. Not to detract from your image, but that last shot cracks me up. "Happy Birthday Jesus"
