Carnavon Gorge N.P. Pics
About 10 days ago now I spent 4 days at Carnavon Gorge NP in south western QLD. I took a few pics whilst there, and just thought that I would share them.
They are not all meant to be poster quality, but a combination between happy-snaps and photographs. 
As always, I would love to hear people points of view, as well as critiques of these. Bulimba Bluff:

Tristan, Carnavon Gorge looks like a nice place for photography.
In the first couple shots of Bulimba Bluff, the focus doesn't look all that sharp to me. Maybe it's my work PC monitor. In each of the shots, you may be able to get them looking a bit more punchy by increasing the contrast, particularly mid tone contrast and maybe upping the saturation selectively. The reason the first couple shots may appear soft is (i would think) because they are stitched. They are both about 10 photos (portrait) stitched together, and then poorly resized. I would love to try and get some more out of the moss gardens, as I really do like that photo.

I would like more sky in the bulimba bluff pano shots. The inclusion of the darked edge on the far left is great, but would be improved if you have the tops of those trees showing. May be a lower composition would be good.
The second cathedral cave shot is great, bring up the dark orange colour a bit.

Great location, and some really nice images to protray it... I'm useless at critique but I'll try in order to offer another viewpoint 
#1 and #2, just would have liked some more height with extra sky... #2 looks to have a smidge hot sky area, wondering about lowering the exposure, assuming you shot raw? Some spots in the cliff face look a smidge hot too. #1 and #2 might be good candidates for two images blended to get extra dynamic range maybe? #3 For me I'd like to see the start of the boardwalk on the left, lovely subdued colors but for both #3 and #4, I'd play with increased sat just to see what they're like with extra color in the rocks... #5 (Mickey Creek Gorge) lovely dappled light, wonder how it would look from a lower viewpoint with the rocks beign more prominent in the foreground maybe? #6 (Moss Gardens) Very nice, maybe just clone out the dead wood in teh bottom right corner...? #8 (Big Bend) Great to have a person in teh shot to give perspective, again wonder about maybe from a lower perspective? Where the pano shots stitched images, or a single image cropped, hard to tell at this size... Take this with a grain of salt I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about

those shots bring back memories, been a few years now since I ventured to Carnavon. That is a nice walk up to the bluff and back, last time I did I had to carry a 2 year old on my back, very sore by the end, but well worth it. Was access to Angiopterus Ravine open, last time I went it was closed, weel worth the vist. Will have to go back again thanks for sharing Doug As soon as you make something idiot proof they build a better idiot.

Angiopterus Ravine - where was it located / was there another name for it? The first panoramas are indeed stitched, about 10-12 pics each. Any other comments? Canon User
