Ended up taking a few flower shots instead. If you remember last sunday it was quite windy. Had trouble getting sharp shots.
Taken with the Sigma 105. Any hints/suggestion on improving these are welcomed.

Flowers (4 x 150Kb)I had seen a few lady bugs around the yard so decided to get the camera out. I got back outside and there were none in sight.

I like the last to shots alot, nicely done! The first two... are missing something (or are maybe just too soft) for me.

GC, I'm hardly qualified to provide suggestions, having only just started this macro thing myself. What I have found that improved my shots so far was: Going for a high fstop. f22 worked much better than f8 or f11 where I usually tend to stay. Stuff falls out of focus really easily with a macro lens. Manual focus is working better for me than AF. Also, on AF, the lens was hunting a lot. Take the SB800 off camera. Haven't actually tried this yet, but will this weekend. With the front of the lens very close to the subject, it may be too close for the SB800. Just what I've worked out so far.
