Ooooh I love that one John,

All sorts of metaphysical stuff going on there - most notably the lighting of fire at sunset as a precursor to the setting out of a ring of stones and the education of young ...... (better not say!)

The fire really makes it for me and the sky is a great and timely capture too.

Cheers,

There's something primeval about this shot... Fantastic color, the air looks so clean and crisp after the storm...

With the fire looks like you're about to sacrifice either a goat or a virgin... Hmmm, probably the goat... they're much easier to find

A spectacular sky John... and the match with the colour of the fire gives the image a nice balance...
Cheers, John

Really nice shot!

If I was to offer a critique I would say one thing you could have done to make it even better would be to go a bit wider and include the whole campfire rock circle...

Very nice!

John

A good, but not great image for me (sorry) - it's just a little too orange for me. In all other respects though I like the image and your compositional choice of including the fire rounds things out nicely.

John terrific image but to an extent I agree with Peter IMO a little oversaturated but turned down just a tad and this is a stupendous image. :) The sort that makes me wanna jump in the tropy and take off!

Great shot, but as had been said earlier, this is too orange for me... and I'd have prefer a little more of the campfire to be in shot... other then that the clouds a great in this

I can say with absolute honesty that the saturation has not been changed at all. I did do a little colour intensity but that was all. I also lightened the shadows to give the foregroud a little detail. It was an incredible sky, in between storms.

There's something wrong about this shot...a roaring fire after a rainstorm. Are you related to Houdini or something? Maybe Les Hiddins? Most people couldn't start a campfire in a total fire ban! :D :D BTW, interesting composition and capture. Max

Ozi believe you me that fire took a battering and needed major rescusitation to spark again. We gave up after the second storm

Diesel works very well!! As does the dry grass under the "grass tree" bush, the dry shoots are ALWAYS dry, even in a monsoon. :)

I'd have to say that it's compelling, but the intense colors look way too produced. Not sure how it happened if you didn't touch the saturation, but it looks like you slid her to 11.

Dooda sometimes nature can suprise you. I repeat saturation was not touched but colour intensity was a tad.
