Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Here's the best of the rest of my photos from London.
Most of these were taken from the top of a double decker bus with a driver who had no particular regard for photographers (i.e. he had a nasty habit of accelerating or braking just as I had my composition / focus right)...

Nothing of any particular technical merit, but I do like the light in a few of them...
Mainly posted to cure (or fuel) Chris' homesickness...
Please scroll down to the beginning of the photos (there seems to be a bug in phpBB when I use HTML)

Excellent John - I did spot one British advertising sign ”Boots” I lived for a few years in Shaftesbury Avenue opposite the Shaftesbury Theatre where I went to see the musical Hair in 1973 - just prior to the roof collapsing.

My haunt was around the Circus, Oxford Street and Soho during my teens years and my university time at King’s College.

Thanks for the memories :)
Chris

You're very observant Matt... I hadn't noticed that

No problems on the tube at all... Security wasn't very obvious in any place other than Windsor Castle where the police were all over the place because the Queen was home...
Cheers, John

Nice images John. You seem to be not having that much trouble with the lighting. You are finding some nice subjects for photographing. I look forward to your future posts. :)

Nice Series John, I had to ask did you met any resistance taking photos down in the trainstation, or for that matter anywhere else ? After the bomb blasts I was wondering if security and paranoia are big, or if it goes against the British grain ?

No - no problems of that sort Craig... In fact, I didn't give a second thought about sitting on a tube train or a bus - It didn't feel any different than the last time I did it... We were there on a Sunday, so it was pretty quiet, but I didn't notice any extra security anywhere... Londoners seem to have put it all behind them...

I took lots of pictures in Harrods with a backpack on my back and was expecting to be approached, but wasn't. I suppose having a six-year old girl in tow probably helps to reduce suspicion...
Cheers, John
