had my eye on this guy for a few days.
been itching to test my new toy 105 micro (thanks Birdy) but the heat and the wind havent been kind the last few days.
Got this this morning, still gotta figure out what I am doing and the wind was moving the spidey back and forwards but was fairly happy with this one.

Nice and sharp, great markings on the spider to!

My only negative comment would be that you cropped of his feet in the top of the image.

Try getting a mist/spray bottle and spray water on him and his web, get the water droplets happening. The spiders out here won't play ball with that idea, in fact, none of the look nearly as cool as yours do.

raskill: actually had 4 legs on the full frame but I cropped for composition,
as one was bent.

It isnt as easy as I thought to get sharp macros. at a lot of magnification a little wind goes a long way!!

Great pic. I have a few of these around my house, and thought of trying this, but no lens that could get close enough. After looking at this I won't bother since you've done this to perfection.

Seems nice and sharp and detailed, he (or she?) has amazing colour markings too... Doing nicely with that 105!

not sure how you sex these things, although with some of the others the male is much smaller. We need Blacknstormy to help here.

Its funny how nice some things look when you really look at them.
I was thinkiing that this was really bright when I first did it. but when I look at it in the light of day, it is really these colours although the flash probably made them slightly more vibrant.
The macro lens lets you appreciate the colours of nature.
