A Weekend Away... (Dial-Up Warning)

Dad and I were invited up to the coast to stay with Birdy and Tran this weekend... Matt K., Philo and Stubbsy were there, too.

There were rocks, cameras, half-dead fish, blue skies, cameras, curries, and plenty of sunburn to go around.

I'm still hurting.

Some great shots Leigh, love the first one, your sets are always refreshing showing a different perspective on things.

Nice shots Leigh, think you should have got the fish closer to the lens and the fisherman further away, for some reason from this perspective the fish looks like a goldfish

Mmm, nice stuff there. I particularly like the great dramatic contrast in the 10th b/w shot, and the range of tones. I suppose this was filtered at shooting time?

I think I spent too much time with you at the weekend since I'm starting to like your work - these are very good.

I particularly like #1, #3, and #4 in the first batch, but the second one in the second batch is bloody awesome. The railway tracks are very good too - more so since I know you shot this as I drove us across the railway crossing.

You have shown people around the Newcastle? great stuff! and great works for both the scout and the photographers but one thing you're missing, you haven't shown to people: where are the Oldcastle and its photos?

All it needed was a bit of straightening and curves adjustments!

Yes, there was an IR filter on it at the time.

The fish wasn't much bigger than a goldfish and I was screwing the filter off of the camera when he started reeling it in so I didn't have much time to react.
Matt threw it back in anyway... and it bounced off of a rock and probably crushed it's skull on re-entry... lol.

1st image illustrates well the likely differences between a beginner and a seasoned pro - nailed the focus precisely, on the eye and not the bum.

IR shots are interesting... but noisy(?!)

I hope that was the bait on the end of MattK's line.
