While taking a few Pics the other day, this one captured my eye.
And older Dome building engulfed by a modern looking lined jungle.

Well, works for me

Hmmmm, I think I need to think about it... my inital reaction is I like it, but not sure why... I was expecting more of the dome, so was a little disappointed but how insignicant if felt compared to the modern architechture

Mic, old architecture juxtaposed with new is a favourite theme for me. Nice shot, but like Craig I would like to see just a teensy bit more (or more visually dominant and same size) of the old.

I reckon simply juxtaposing old and new as equals would take the tension out of the picture. The diminished dome is still the dominant feature of the image, helped by composition, the fact that it is the only non-straight object and the fact that it is in the brightest spot of the frame. That makes the image quite dramatic.

I'd probably go a bit easier on the sharpening, it tends to flatten the image if applied too gratuitously.

Nice shot. What's that tint called?

Cheers
Steffen.

Tis an interesting shot Mic and it does work for me.

If you are familiar with David Bowie and the boots he wore back in the 70’s I would get hold of a pair, just to give you that added height
