Rate my monkey (mogo zoo)

Behinds glass using the 70-300G. Lots of practice recently using manual focus is paying off. Auto focus was producing cruddy results. Im very pleased with the first one.

Great shots but rate the first one the best, a nice sharp pic. Well done.

I love the composition of the 1st picture.
Unfortunately you've lost a bit of detail with the fur on the top of his/her head. I guess it difficult with all that white and with the sun shining down on top of its head.

some nicely exposed stuff here. looks a tiny little bit hot on the forehead though on my notebook. easily fixed though, could clone some hair from nearby.
the dark background sets the monkey off also
rate the monkey... well.......worth spanking thats for sure

willy wombat, what a cheeky thread title. I was almost too worried to open it! Anyway the shots are great, there are some highlight issues on the top of the monkey's head (as pointed out by antman) but great capture!

I like both of the shots especially for the expressions on their faces. What ape erture did you use? (Couldn't resist it)

WW! Well done with the manual focus, and sharp results considering the extra glass you were shooting through... One of the girls in my primary school and high school classes used to own and live on the Zoo... did you get a chance to go shopping in Mogo ? Dangerous territory there

Thanks everyone for those nice comments about #1. It is a picture im happy with too.
Alpha - Went shopping with the GF in Mogo at the lolly shop. There must be a big winter storm coming because she sure stocked up...
I got to go to the zoo and she got to go to the candy store. You learn to give and get ehy

Love the expression and pose in that first shot, pinkies got chopped off so not sure whether I'd be tempted to crop in closer or not... Exposure would have been a nightmare so I think you've done really well, better than I usually do
Great expression, it always elevates a shot if you have either good eye contact or as in this case, an interesting pose or expression... Terrific background too, good stuff...

Well done with the manual focus! I still tend to use auto as I dont trust my eyes
LOL. But looking at the results you got here I may be tempted to use MF as the AF on the VR is pretty slow!
Love the first one, I dont mind the fact that he is missing some fingers... Definately a keeper...
