First Shots - More Sculptures by the Sea

I took some photos at the Sculptures by the Sea exhibition last week and have finally worked out how to share some of them with you - I'm not the most computer literate person...

I know there's already been heaps of images from this exhibition already - I hope these don't bore you to death. I'd love to hear your critique of these shots. There's been no PP whatsoever, 'cos I don't know how to just yet. I'm still at the very steep end of the learning curve.

Thanks

Andrew PS. Many thanks to Stubbsy for his excellent step by step guide to uploading images. You are to be commended - even I could follow the instructions.

A great start. I particularly like #2 because you've included the sky writing, but the jesus in the next one doesn't work for me (I like the quirkiness of the first - a sort of "What is the writing?" whereas the second leaves nothing to the imagination). I think the first pics is good too, even more so since you've managed to keep shadow detail without blowing the highlights and nothing has been done in PP to achieve it.

G'day mate,

I really like the angle you've gone for on that first shot and as Peter mentioned all these shots are nicely exposed too which would have been tricky with the combination of strong lighting and shadows... Well done...

#2 I'm not sure on, I think I'm just not creative enough

I actually like the way you've framed #3, every one's different in the way we view an image, but I like the way the figure is pointing to the sky writing, works for me :)

Re: PP There's heaps of experienced members on the forum so when you start playing in processing ask heaps of questions, it's a friendly constructive forum.

You have a good creative eye.

Cheers.

Some fine work there...and they don't need any PP. I love the skywriting and the way it relates to the objects on the ground. Well done and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys.

I was lucky enough to have a skywriter writing "come back to Jesus" while I was taking these photos. It was fun adding the text to the images, so to speak. I would have liked a polarizing filter to strengthen these images, but having just bought my D70, my budget doesn't go that far just yet.

Here's a few more...
