I've been experimenting with urban space style pics. Here's a couple I snapped last night.
I'm curious about your thoughts as these strange little green spots in the middle of concrete and traffic are really starting to intrigue me.
Does anyone think that I should clone out the garbage bin in the closed beach shot? I sort of thought about it for symmetry, but as I kept looking at it, it just seemed to fit somehow.

Dave,
You should be in bed right now! wondering what were you doing at that time on the road?

Perhaps, she's not home and you're feeling lonely

Naw, it's only 9:13 right now Birdy. I'm still going to head out and get some more shots!

Yeah, the ski season opened up, kids are boarding up there, and it's an early season which is good.

The middle shot takes my breath away. You nailed it beautifully!

Gorgeous colouring! I assume you were shooting in RAW. What white balance did you apply? Did you warm the shots up?

No, that freaked me out about these. I didn't shoot in Raw, I shot in jpeg by mistake. Couldn't understand why my raw converter wasn't taking them, finally figured it out. So I ran it through a cooling filter in
PS2 and also desaturated the yellow a touch. I really regret not shooting in Raw, as I notice the difference. Had I shot in Raw I'd have moved the WB to as cold as it goes.

I love that middle shot
I've never managed to make a jpg night shot look that good. Great work

Dave,
i think the bin needs to stay. Symmetry would send this shot to the cemetary, IMHO.
Love these; they have a wintery feel that we rarely get in Sydney. Even in Winter.

Dave nice set of images. I would agree with Gary about oversymmetry but rather than the bin get rid of the bin and have a darlky clad shadowy figure sitting on the left bench off to the left side about in line with the bins current position. That would provide the right countenance to the symmetry and add mystery to the shot. I love the lighting. Well done.
cheers
marco

I love all of the shots - but the last one had me thinking of horror movies - Blair witch project - for some reason.

Funny, the signs were sort of a part of the point...I guess I wasn't really going for pretty.
