My other half and I took Manta out in the field last night, looking for snakes/frogs/birds etc...... hopefully he enjoyed himiself? LOL But, when I looked at this shot, I think he may have enjoyed himself toooo much? Manta, why does it look like you are pulling your pants up? And finally, taking a photo of your own foot or hairy leg, does not count as wildlife photography

The word CRIKEY! comes to mind. :P
A little birdy tells me that you spent the evening shrieking and waving your hands in front of your face anytime a camera was pointed at you Rel!

Wasn't so much shrieking, as yelling verbal abuse

Not as hairy as the native longicorn beetle I was photographing at the time. It had already attacked Narelle and drew blood when it had a chomp on her nose..

Awful photo but here he is: (Actual size: about 5 cm long)

Manta now I know what hunting for frogs looks like. Between the lot of you guys there would have been quite qa bit of candle power used. Looks loke a great night and experience. Oh my aching back  Next time I'm down in Brisbane I'll have to tee up with you guys. That'll be around 2012

Hehe - you're spot on Marco - trying to get that Macro focussed is bloody hard work, especially with uneven ground and things crawling up your leg. Still, I'd be back out there tonight if I could and there'll be more in the future. (Maybe even THAT far in the future: 2012!)

I reckon you've got enough of your own little croakers up your way to make up for your not being able to get down here.

Wow - missed all of this action last night - had an icepack on my nose :) LOL

Was a great night - thanks Simon.... to anyone who is interested, we'll be doing this again in the nearish future .... a "minimeet in the wild". This adventure was very quickly put together to take one of our other friends out in the 'field' who is keen to go digital ... and to take Simon who I think has a thing for frogs (and for wearing sexy shorts with sock savers  :D ).

Off to look at your shots Simon......
