Casual Elegance

Brodie projected style and a lush effortless elegance through our whole shoot, she knew her body so well for how it should look and just fell into forms that worked for the camera without any request. Nothing like working with a professional dancer. Fantastic fun.

Thanks - as she is a burlesque dancer the vintage look was what we were chasing. Also I think you posted before I edited, adding the second and third shots. :)

Gorgeous. Model and photos.

I wonder if my wife will let me have one.

I think the first 2 are outstanding images. The collaboration between photographer and model is evident. 2 artists at work. And the presentation is appropriate and classy.

Great shots....... but the large black boarder tends to take over, one half the size would give your images a better chance to jump off the page.......

Awesome mate. Would love to know the lighting set up.
Really cool shots and feel. I've been working on something like this for a while, but my results are not as impressive as yours.

@ bigpix, I looked at them with smaller borders and simply didnt like them as much. *shrugs*

@ rokkstar, thanks, I used just the SB600 and the D70's own flash in commander mode. I had the SB600 on a tripod about 3Mt to the side flashing at a large reflector that was hung off the wall. I use a $35 tiny softbox on the head of the SB600 to diffuse it just that little bit more before it bounces off the reflector.

I've printed the top shot in a 24" format and it hasnt pixelated or fallen apart at all. I was really quite surprised/relieved. It's the first shot from the D70 that I have had blown up to poster size. :D

The model Brodie will likely be performing during my exhibiton once we've got everything else sorted. :) Should be a hoot.

I print D70 images up to a meter with no worries, but I start with a RAW file......

I only ever shoot RAW these days. Never been happy with mixing my lack of experience with the SLR and using JPEG. hehe

The 24" I think may have been along the shorter side. It's equal or maybe a little larger than to two pages of A3 side by side.
