Three pics taken at Port Stephens at the weekend. All shots were taken with the 24-120 VR. Port Stephens is about 3 hours north of Sydney and a great spot to take a diversity of shots all in the one area. See my
Port Stephens and
Stockton Dunes galleries for more from here
View of the beach at Boat Harbour
Looking east towards the entrance to Boat Harbour
Nelson Bay - yes, more cloud pics from me!

Peter ......... not as good as some of your previous work......... but with better light, these same shots would be improved. But we work with what is there at the time of shooting, rather that wait for the perfect moment........

Thank you for the honest observation. I concur wholeheartedly. Of all the shots I took this weekend (400 or so) the only ones I was trully happy with were the flower shots in
this post. This is the lowest keeper rate I have ever had from an outing and it's a bit disheartening.
Leigh (nnnnsic) was around for most of these and I just hope he was more successful since it was his first visit to the area. He even used one of those film camera thingies for some shots

I like #1. Curve of water line, smuges of water and pebles on first play play good abstract. There is only one thing in this shot I dont like: green on the top. It takes attention out of the subject. It is intrusive.

Hi Peter!
#1 is my favorite - pretty simple but well framed with nice reflections. Just brilliant!

Thanks. For #1 I actually tried it without out the green, but didn't like the aspect ratio. I'll have another play with this one tonight.

Peter, i like these shots but i would have to say #2 does it for me. Ok #1 is nice with the rocks in it, but like the water is coming through the break in the rocks.

Both 1 & 2 do it for me, No 3 just looks a bit blue.

Peter - I personally love your diversity of cloud pics. One that I remember vividly is the one on the beach with the tyre tracks...awesome shot

BBJ, cc@t, Geoff. Thanks for your comments.
Geoff I have a thing about clouds - as Leigh can attest about this weekend.
Edit: And as promised, the first image above with a recrop

I liked your new crop and the nice curves got me thinking, so I did a quick mirror image it didn't quiet have the affect I was picturing but I thought I'd post it anyway...
