Went along with my dad to a Ride day at Phillip Island and was trying out some panning shots. All I can say is I need more practice, I used a couple techniques manual focusing to a preset point and also just using AF-C to follow the bikes.

Below are a couple of the "good" ones taken with my 70-200VR on my Mono. The first one is actually my dad. After watching the bikes go around this very fast track all day I think I need to learn how to ride :-D

I like both of these they provide a good feeling of speed, and I like slightly un-conventional "left of centre" subject, rather then being smack in the middle. BTW your dad looks pretty young, but I guess it's hard to tell with a helmet and leathers.

The left of centre layout was more a result of trying to shoot a very fast moving object. However I liked the result as it give the bikes somewhere to go.

Most of what I shoot is nature/landscape themed. So this was a big change of pace, since trees don't usually travel over 240 km/h.
