We have had the backyard landscaped etc etc (and you reckon lens lust hits the wallet - sheesh!!). It has been a big few months.

Anyway, the first rose is out, woohoo.

Lovely Greg!

I should get out and water ours before Mum gets back. The heat has affected quite a few :(

Gregb,
Nice yellow rose! hope you can get more nice pics with all your arsenal, 4 days off should give you plenty of time.

kipper,
Do what your mum told  otherwise you're in trouble  especially when they come back, they see all their plants died and discover you're having fun with the "UFO" hidden somewhere under your bed

Sheeeesh Greg. Haven't you learnt anything about composition  The rose should be neat and in the middle and the bottom shouldn't be chopped off

But seriously...

Great pic Greg. Somehow I suspect there are more to come from the new garden. Only real quibble is that it seems a trifle dark to me.

If we end up under attack Greg it is all down to you. That crazy gun-totin' Texan in the White House got all fired up about the guy that tried to kill his daddy .... any idea what he'd do in tretibution for the plagiraism of his precious Yellow Rose of Texas?

Congratulations on the fine progeny and the lovely crisp family portrait.

Cheers,

Hopefully, he'll ride an armadillo off into the sunset.

Lovely image Greg, well exposed, well composed (except for the absent brick wall that Stubbsy neglected to mention) and a delight to observe.
