Focus on leading eye

I read in a recent posting that a portrait shot should have the main focal point on the leading eye (definately not the nose).

I thought I would practise this new found technique.....but now I don't know which part of the leading eye to focus on, the front or the back........ any suggestions would be appreciated :D

Stuart, pity those D2X don't pick up details   (joking) Quite amazing, taken I assume with 70-200 and 1.7TC?

At this range I'd suggest focussing on the iris. (It's okay Mic - another sort of iris). This might be a very telling portrait to any iridologist out there looking at it and the subject might be upset by the disclosure of such intimate facts.

Excellent close work, Stuart.

Cheers,

Stuart, truly unbelievable when one considers it must have been taken from the other side of the room.

ps Stuart, thought I should point out I knew you had a D2X and I got the lens info from Iexif, just in case you thought I could recognise lenses, I can't, but it did give me the focal length of 340mm so I guessed from there.
