We had some fantastic rain last night, as well as some truely amazing lightning....... this shot was of the coming thunderhead .... taken with the 105 micro (it was already on the camera).
Hope everyone came out of the storms ok.

Great capture Rel. Given you used a micro lens you must have been damn close to those clouds

Is that processed colour or straight from camera? If it's straight from the camera that is one scary looking storm.

Thank you everyone for looking and for commenting
Stubbsy - no doubt if my other half read your post, he would reply that I was out joyriding on my broomstick when I took the photo - hence I was 'so close' with my micro lens
Bloop - no processing - anyone in Ipswich or Brisbane can tell you last nights storm was one very very good one !! The lightning, rain and wind squalls were something to behold.
Not that I'm complaining, I love a good storm.
Thanks again
Rel

Very, very nice Blacknstormy! The contrast in the clouds is superb. Did you take anymore or is this the only one?
I'm terribly envious of SE QLD's weather of late. I really want to get out and attempt to take more lightning shots, but it's a bit hard when there are no storms in the Eastern burbs of Melbourne

....one day it will happen! I was watching on radar and weatherzone the happenings around Brisbane last night, looked great!

Fantastic shot there Rel!! Very very nice. The only think I think detracts from this is your wording on the top right hand corner of the image, I think it would look lots better if you put this at the bottom of the frame centered. Cheers though, awesome shot

Stormygirl, if last year was anything to go by it should get better in November. I think there was a lot of lightning during late Nov, early Dec.

Terrific shot Rel. Love the simplicity and alertness to the opportunity. Great play of light and dark elements in more ways than one!
Great moody image.
cheers

Rel, I'd be inclined to reposition your signature though as it looks a bit odd where it's placed.

Absolutely Awesome shot, it grabs you by the neck and says 'behold the power and beauty of nature'
