Hey Dug, I use flickr too... Are you trying to link to a specific photo? You need to link to the actual JPG address, like this:

http://static.flickr.com/30/55536704_260559e60f.jpg

You can get the addresses to the various sizes by clicking on "All Sizes" and then choosing the size you want... from there, it should say underneath the image "Grab the photo's URL", where it will have the direct link.

Hope that helps!

Layla is a friend I used her shot as a test photo. I don't actually like the photo, I prefer the one with the sawfish teeth.

I believe they now use acrylic paint though some of it smeared with sweat so may have been a powdered water colour paint .

Thanks for the comments glad you liked the shots they are the pick of the first DVD of images taken on the first day. 2 more days and lots more images to go so I am looking forward to seeing them it takes a while to get into the feel of such an event it evolves as you shoot.

Loz where are you off to in PNG? these are taken at the show in Goroka a once a year event. there are LOTS of opportunities to shoot but be aware of your gear and your personal security.

I took a polaroid 600 camera to give some shots to the dancers and locals IT WENT OFF!!!! BIG TIME!!!! people loved it and love having their photos taken If you travel to third world countries carry a polaroid camera it is a great ice breaker with the locals.

Again Thanks for your comments.

PS thanks for the advice on posting.

I will try to read it when I am more alert.

I do not cope with computers or reading well at any time.

Did this work?

If it did the polaroid was an amazing way to introduce yourself.

Most people would offer gifts like beads or stuff as exchange for them.

I got offered lunch several times but was too busy to share the local food  :D

I did not want food poisoning while I was up there.

Dug, to post your images... click the square box that says IMG it should then look like [ img ] without the spaces.. then wack the image url in which will look like this [ img ]http://static.flickr.com/27/55565447_ed4f343b9e_o.jpg and then press the IMG button again so it adds a [ /img ] at the end.. end result is.. your image should look like this

Dug, fantastic images of a fantastic race of people. The real beauty of the images lies in the smiles of your subjects. They seem genuinely happy to have their portraits taken.

Well done and i will revisit your website as you add more photos to it.
