Just went on a mission back to Rowes Wharf, didn't realise it was still raining till I got outside the hotel lobby. The rain would be manable if it wasn't for squarly(?) winds blowing me, the gear and the umbrella every which way. Thought you might enjoy a few shots of the weather, while you enjoy some decent Aussie weather :)

In this shot I was almost blown of my feet, plus some rain got on the lens as the brolly gave way.

I think this could do with cropping but haven't decide how much :)

Enjoy the nice weather all :)

Shot #3 is great. Obviously a wider capture getting the full circle would be best, but I'm guessing you were lens restricted. This is the next best thing because of the symmetrical cropping. I love the clover effect as you look up.

Thanks Peter, I went back there and shot alot around this area and plenty of attempts at the dome. Unfortunately the kit lens 18-70 wasn't wide enough.. however with it and my 0.45 add on adapter, I did take some shots to give you a better idea of what the kit lens was missing... unfortunately the last ring isn't complete... it sort of joins onto the next part of the roof.

While I don't like the results with the 0.45 lens on front (I find it suffers a lot of blur on the edges and it's hard to focus) it did allow me to take some interesting shots that I might post later...

So the 12-24 is on the shopping list when you return? You're right about the image, but it's a lovely building. Might be worth having a play with these shots when you get back. Hope to see you at the mini meet on Saturday.

12-24 is among many lens that I would love to have... Katie even let me sneak into a few camera stores in Funan IT Mall today.. including John 3:16 which was recommended by a someone here..
Kate said I could call past and say hi, but I think she has a lot planned for our first weekend back... but I was hoping to bring the laptop along with our Boston / Singapore office.
