Well Mic believe it or not I had 2 guys on the banks of the lagoon watching out and I was , excuse the expression, ball deep with a tripod in front of me. Got the shot and got out. That'll teach me to not have enough reach in my lenses. In retrospect it wasn't one of the smartest things I've ever done. Thankfully I now have an 80-400VR, on ya Birddog!
Thanks for the comments guys.

Second one is much better, I would probably have cropped a little more from the bottom to get rid of the out of focus bit.

Marco,

For some reason the pano crop version appears to have a little less snap to it. Did you tweak the contrast?

I find that in the cropped version the lower contrast in the lily shifts emphasis from the lily to the highlight on the water behind.

Cheers,

Phillip I think you'r right i cropped a little more off the bottom
Sheetshooter dead right I got so caught up cropping and posting forgot to tweak contrast and I did a little to colour balance. Sorry i have gotten rid of the original pano somehow. I have also been lazy and using the same jpeg image to make corrections and resave the same jpeg probably losing a bit of quality too. Not sure. I'm Reasonably new at the best posting methods.
thank you for the valuable comments.

jpeg artifacts aside, the pano crop is a decided improvement.

That last version is great, I think it was worth the effort to get wet.
