The BAC (Brisbane Airport Corporation) held an emergency services and BAC interoperability exercise on 05/10 to test the response times and operational control if a major incident occurred at the airport. A plane explosion was the subject of this exercise, and involved staff and personnel from the QFRS, QAS, DES, QPS, ARFF, and the BAC. On scene were QFRS 501b, 507a, 511a (pumps), 501t (incident control), 850L (technical response), ARFF ultra large fire vehicles (ULFV) 1, 2, and 3, ARFF 5 domestic response (DRV), numerous QAS vehicles, QPS RBT unit (used for incident control perhaps?), SES staff, actors/actresses, and finally flight attendants from Virgin Blue. Two BCC buses were used to simulate a plane's cabin, and a Caribou body was used to simulate the aircraft fire.
