More from Mt Panorama (now with race girls!!)

Just a few more from the Supercheap 1000.

I'm pretty happy with the results although a few things did come out. It's hard to pan at 300 kilomtres per hour. Period. The closer you get to the track, the faster your shutter speed needs to be. I also need to learn to pan better, so rather than shoot wide and crop, shoot close and don't crop. But like I said, at those speeds, it's hard!

Also, my sigma lens has a probelm. It allows movement of the camera body a poofteenth of an inch, which makes the camera unable to fire (comes up with F-- error). Happened a few times, 70-200mm APO will be sent away for repair.

Apart from that I got literally hundreds of keepers. Extremely happy. If anyone has a request I got nearly every car a few times at least, so PM me if you want some pics of your favourite team.

As usual, please feel free to comment, criticise or pat on the head. I need feedback!!!!

Isn't that Maybach coupe UGLY! If I had the odd $8 mil to spend on a car, I'd want one that looks better than that! :?
Makes you weep when you hear that Daimler Benz built it just to test tyres!

Great shots! Being there you probably didn't see the footage from a camera undercar aiming at the brakes. Man it was quite incredible. They showed this particular car as it braked at the last turn before pitt straight and the sparks and glow of the discs was just amazing.
I like richards flat! Must have been a buzz.

Great shots Raskill. I was there too, on the Mountain and took 190 shots. I haven't had time to view them yet but I hope they are good as yours.

Where were ou on the circuit? With the 80-400 VR you should have some killers!! :) Look forward to seeing them.

I was up at McPhillamy Park and took lots of shots. This was the first time I have taken shots with cars going sooo fast. I haven't viewed all my shots yet but I did got a few blurred ones. I am used to Eastern Creek and Oran Park where there are more opportunities to get shots at slower speeds.

I certainly prefer eastern creek, great viewing areas, nice tight track with good access all round. The Mount will become better and better with many millions yet to be spent on increasing the size of the hills, improving merchandising area, building new grandstands etc etc.

On a slightly different note, apparently they are holding the first Aussie equivelent of the 'Goodwood Festival of Speed' next year at the circuit., Think 'Summer Nats' for people with brains in their heads.

With all the money they are speding they are also talking about running more events ie 24 hour race and superbikes.

Awesome pics Raskill. http://photos.imageevent.com/raskill/supercheap1000/ is giving me a 403 error.

I'd love to see some of the Castrol Perkins Falcons - note: I'm not a Ford fan, but Russell Ingall has my respect as a great driver and a larrakin. :)
