Planes on a windy day

Had the pleasure of spending some time with Matt K at Sydney airport yesterday. It was very windy and the planes were taking off and landing directly into the breeze. Good thing is the runway they were using meant they whooshed in over the top of us. All pics below were hand held which is a testament more to the VR than to my hand holding technique given the conditions. My favourite shots below (click the pic for a larger version):
Coming in to land
120mm, F5, 1/400 sec (24-120 VR)
Beautiful heat haze from the engine exhaust on this one getting ready to take off
340mm, F8, 1/640 sec (70-200 VR + TC 1.7)
Two virgins - ambivalent about this shot. I think it's a little busy
120mm, F5.6, 1/800 sec (24-120 VR)
120mm, F5, 1/320 sec (24-120 VR)
