Despite being stung by some nettle and trekking through grass that I'm sure held a few snakes waiting for me, my wife and I made our way here. Let me know what you think of these shots, as well as post processing advice.

Cheers,
Owen.

I really love the second of these Owen - the exposure works well, and I know how hard these conditions are! The colours of the grass in the foreground especially, are really crisp :)
I'm no expert on landscapes, that's for sure, but can I suggest a crop of the last one (love the colours you have in this one too - especially the detail in the dirt) - to include only up to the point just before any of the background light comes in between the trees? I tried it on the screen, and think it looks good - you may then be able to bring out more of the detail and colour :)

I like #3 and #5, you can feel the flow of the river more in these to shots.
To be honest the other shots don't really do much for me.
I'm hopeless with PP tips, so I'll leave them to the more experienced.

Thanks Sheepie, that last one does look better cropped. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I think the fourth image has some potential, like the composition but appears maybe a longer exposure could help or you may be able to pull more light processing.

Hi Alpha. Thanks for the comment. The thing is though that this river was hardly moving at all ;) It was hard to capture what movement there was from all angles. Thanks for the comments though, I should head back there after we get some rain.

Cheers,
Owen.

I agree with lostdingo. #4 has most visual imapct for me and its primarily down to the hint of light here and there. Reflecting off water and the golden rays striking trees in the backgound. Foreground interest with bush and rocks finishes it off nicely. As much as I don't like tampering to much with a natural environmental portrait i would have probably trimmed that bit of dead wood cum branches above and in the green bush in the foreground. Good shot though owen.

Owen whilst technically they look good to me, they lack interest, if you know what I mean.

Two hints from me:
- IMHO the vertical POV suits this scene more than the horizontal. It gives more depth, and the viewer is led into the pic.
- I agree with Oneputt, and this is not meant unkindly. I think all of the pix need a point of interest, whether it be the water, or the surrounding bush or the light. I guess the photographer's job is to determine what that is and present it to us, the end viewer.

Thanks guys, I agree totally. I appreciate your comments. We've had a little more rain so I may head out again and try some more of these sort of shots.

Thanks again for being frank, without it we wouldn't improve our photos!

Regards,
Owen.

They were taken at a creek called Jaspers Brush creek, just south of Berry on the south coast of NSW.

G'day Owen,
#1 and #4 are the most appealing to me, #1 has a great foreground interest but the log through the middle seems to block me going through the image. #4 takes me through the image more, maybe the foreground rock needs a smidge more highlight stuff.

Isn't it so relaxing and yet invigorating going for a wander through the bush?

Thanks mudder, usually strolls are nice, however this place was located beside the princes highway under a big bridge. Walking there I got stung by stinging nettles as well, so it wasn't the most pleasant walk I've been on. However, I just went to Bunnings and bought some big ol' gumboots so I'm looking forward to heading back and getting my feet wet!

Thanks for looking.
Owen.
