This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I caught up with Cameron and Marcus down under the bridge for a little evenings shooting A little two minute long exposure right under the bridge towards the end of twilight (which I'm not feeling but my daughter likes) I fully stole the following idea from Marcus who'd shot something very similar just minutes before (admittedly he did his handheld at ISO 8000) - however it was too good a shot to pass up so here is a timeless moment and the best shot of the evening... Finally as Cameron and I were wanding the back alleys of The Rocks area

Rodney, the second image is hitting the right spots for me, the only improvement would be to crop some off the bottom just below the light spill from the lamp, this would then draw the viewer to the bright area than they would follow the post etc to the bridge, which is subtly nestled in the BG. Nicely done imo.

I really like that lamp post as well! You have really done well with it...my half-hearted attempts didn't make the cut.

The lamp post. In #1 I think the foreground element is just a little too dominant. #3 does not really do anything for me.

Well it looks like Marcus for the win - he gets all the credit biggerry wrote:Rodney, the second image is hitting the right spots for me, the only improvement would be to crop some off the bottom just below the light spill from the lamp, this would then draw the viewer to the bright area than they would follow the post etc to the bridge, which is subtly nestled in the BG. Thanks Gerry - I'll take a look aim54x wrote:I really like that lamp post as well! You have really done well with it...my half-hearted attempts didn't make the cut.
It was the 12-24's fault I tell ya CraigVTR wrote:The lamp post. In #1 I think the foreground element is just a little too dominant. #3 does not really do anything for me.
Thanks Craig - I hear you re #1 - I couldn't really back away enough to do what I wanted with this (lamp posts, tree, road and cars)
