Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Frustrated. No able to find dragon flies and butterflies, i turned my attention to ducks. Does anyone knows a good location where I can take macro of dragon flies and butterflies other than the zoo? Thanks.

You should find some in the wetlands along with ducks!
I have heard that the duck union is getting a little p@ssed off with D70 owners for not offering model releases

G'day,
No idea about the dragon fly or butterflies, but the duck is great, nicely exposed and very detailed... Clear eyes...
Cheers,
Mudder

The duck looks good. In Sydney, the Botanic Gardens have a butterfly enclosure, maybe you have the same thing in Melbourne?

That is a great photo of a duck Exposure looks great and it seems to be taken from quite a low angle!
Cheers

I am a fan of ducks. As Chris says, wetlands are a good place for dragonflies. As for butterflies, only place I've ever seen a few are Baluk Willam Flora Reserve. This reserve also has wild orchids but it depends on the time of year as to what is in flower.

Agree with the above posts...but if we are going to give constructive information...the lily bottom left of page is too bright and draws the eye away from the duck. To improve this image darken that lily down a fair bit.
Regards

I rekon that if the winner on the current competition picks "Ducks" as the theme for the next competion we'll have 600 entries.
