Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Grungy Melbourne doorway

Adjustment curve in PS and a bit of dodge and burn and a slightly desaturated red channel

Love this one. The grungier the better with this stuff.
I'm just starting a similiar thing myself, shooting old doorways and windows, starting off with churches.
What part of Melb was this?

I like it. The dark, dingy, seedy side of society appeals to me, so long as i don't go there. The PP you have done to this door really adds some dramatic mood.

Love it, as Steve said it has a real dramatic mood to it.
I'm intrigued as to what's on the other side.

I like this, good treatment of an interesting subject, good eye...

PP looks good, is there a distortion on the left pipe, like a bend in teh mdidle or is it just me, just seems to catch my eye... :?

Have you added any grain, wonder how it'd go with some grain and a vignette (have you already added any vignette?)...

Good image.

wendel - The dodge and burn brushes (various sizes and intensities) probably account for that. I did use a brush in overlay or vivid light mode on the grass at the bottom of the door

The contrast changes via the curves brought out a lot of variations of reds in the bricks and wood

I'v got another door in progress thats pretty good as well :D

Mudder - not a fan of grain and vignettes :)

The pipe is curved at the base - a little kink
