Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

It's kinda sad that of all the images I have posted here for your commentary and critique, this one has elicited the most views and the most commentary. Maybe I should sell my camera and take up sewing.

Peter, don't be depressed,be proud!! This is is the first time in the history of this forum that a 4 page thread has NOT swung wildly off topic. Also, your original pic might not win POTW, but one of it's offspring might  BTW, I find this thread hilarious and repeat my earlier call for someone to teach we PS challenged idiots how to create the "art" displayed. Failing that, how about a "Fat Elvis" Stark...

If you can't beat 'em join 'em (and Rel I'm having a ball too)

Herewith my attempt and it's even in keeping with the title of this thread (which appeals to the clever in me) a portrait of Joseph Smith. Hopefully someone will get the reference or my wit is only half good

Holbein painted the skull so that you physically had to put your head down on the canvas and look up at it to see the skull within the right dimensions.

yeah Leigh this one is good, but I sqw that painting at the National Gallery London and you simply have to walk past it at the right angle to see the skull instead of putting your head right up to it.

Ok, dried my eyes and have a question - this is the Joseph Smith that wrote that translated the book of Mormon into English, had magic stones (????) was apparantly irresistable to woman, and declared that man could have more than one wife????????

So this has become the church of Leigh??????

Yes he's the mormon Joseph Smith, but I sure hope the rest doesn't apply. So how does the pic relate to the title of the thread?
Edit: And why are we discussing this at 12"15 am when we should all be tucked up safe and sound in bed?

ARRGGHHHHH - and now I'm sitting here trying to figure out the link between a mormon with magic stones (that bit cracks me up) and Leigh, well, LDS .....
I think I'm just thick = I don't get it..... but will sleep on it, and hopefully will figure it all out tomorrow ....

But I decided to tackle this one for the past hour... modifying a Picasso work with it... and damn, it wasn't easy.

Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon has become...

The LDS thing is an inside joke.

My full name is Leigh Daniel Stark and I sign things with Leigh D. Stark really never forgetting the D.

When I was younger and living in Dallas, we had some form of digital radio on our satellite network thingy and there was a station that said "LDS" on it and I naturally thought it was a station for me, not even having heard of a group called the LDS...

Well damn, I didn't listen to that station for long.

Coincidentally, move two letters around and I became a very interesting drug.

And to just add a smidgeon of surreality to this thread :) (yep, just a smidgeon) When we moved to Dallas, the two guys who were my bosses were both Mormons. And myself, the other lead programmer, the marketing manager, and one of the other programmers were jews.

Four Jews, Three Nikons, Two Mormans, and a Caddilac in a pear tree, I guess. :)
