Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. I know this isn't a Nikon shot, but Im not going to hang my D70 from a Kite.....yet.
Shot on a 2 megapixel Ricoh that has an in built intervalomoter. Picked it up for $60 on ebay. Now that I'm sure I can fly the cam without killing it, next step will be a slightly larger cradle to carry my Coolpix 995 and a small external intervalometer. Yep I know you can see one of the cradle legs in the B/L corner, will adjust this before my next attempt. 
Interesting setup mike. You are right in being cautious
 I think you will have to work on faster shutter speeds to counteract wind and kite buffeting of camera creating the unwanted camera shake. Working on that critical sharpness needed is essential. That aside you have a winning little formula here

I hope I can overcome those problems with the Coolpix, higher shutter speeds, higher ISO, better quality lens.
The lens/sensor on the Ricoh is not the best and it can not handle hightlights without blowing out. I have had it up on 10 occasions so far, testing the rig/line etc. May try the Coopix next weekend.
Innovative - will be interesting to see the results from the better camera

Attach a parachute that self deploys in the event that the camera decides its time to bail out.
I've actually toyed with this idea in many of my rc gliders. It's amazing how well it works. Of course you'll need to write your name and address on it... just in case a thermal gets a hold of it (speaking from experience  )
