Bob

Here's an interesting recent SMH article on Google Maps and what others are already using it for - like finding cheap petrol and identifying neighbourhoods where the most sex attacks occur

Thanks Peter,

Maybe I could do a meditation spot map.

Geography suddenly got interesting again.

I wonder if anyone here is attaching geo spots to their pix?

Scott, it is pretty obvious you live where the spies are, I tried to zoom in the Sydney map and it has nowhere near the resolution of the Canberra map

Scott, just saw your pic of the pentagon, and security guys worry about us carrying around dslr's? Someone should arrest Google if a photographer ever gets arrested.

I reckon, after looking at the Pentagon map, that a rocket launcher on one of the boats in the marina would just about do the job. On the other hand, one of those big spaceships from Independance Day would be better

Thank goodness you said that,

I thought we'd never get the attention of the CIA on this site!

Let's borrow the chopper and go see what the Whitehouse looks like from the air!

I've been playing with Google Earth quite a bit and highly recommend it... It is far more interactive and really brings the satellite photos to life...

You will need a fairly good PC & good broadband connection to run it and unfortunately it doesn't have a Mac (or Linux) client yet...

If you want to have some fun, download the highlights file and take a virtual flying tour of the world's best spots / sights...

mini-Leek loves the animation of it... I've finally taken her to Disneyland (cheapskate )...

Also... If you want to have some fun with Google Maps, someone has set up a Google Sightseeing site...

Have fun...

anyone else on www.flickr.com?

I've spent a little time tonight, (ok, a lot of time tonight), exploring some of the by-ways of this fascinating site.

From geotagging to podcasting descriptions of pix, to putting Australian postcodes on pix, to psychology and sex, to tips on coffee shops in Glebe, it's very 'sticky' as a site for me.

I wonder if any other members have found it as adhesive?
