Books for Portrait Poses

Those nice to know things about your DSLR will be found here. How to do this, and why you probably should not do that.

Books for Portrait Poses

Postby makario on Mon May 29, 2006 10:50 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am discovering portrait photography and loads of family members have asked me to take their portrait photos. I was wondering if there is any book that you would suggest with poses or sample shots that I can replicate. I am looking for a book primarly.

thanks
Cheers

MAk,

I have a few, but the best one is "Posing for Portrait Photgraphy. A head to to guide." by Jeff SMITH. ISBN: 1-58428-134-9.

It's a very easy to read book, about 124 pages. Very clear pics, covers the 'sins' of portraits, hints on improving images, how to direct your model etc etc. It's extremely good, I've used quite a bit of knowledge from it already. I picked it up from amazon for about $20 (U.S.).

It gets pretty good reviews on amazon also.

Good luck.
