Not so many D70s in Australia market

Postby birddog114 on Tue Sep 27, 2005 3:18 pm

For people is looking to purchase a D70s in the near future.

Stock of D70s is not healthy at the moment, especially Australia wide,
and stock from Maxwell, once stock in the retails stores sold out, it'll be a long delay.

No reasons to explain why.

I can explain the stock situation. The D200 is coming out for Christmas and the factories used for the D70 are going flat out to get the D200 numbers up.

Remember you heard it at dslrusers.com first

No, not true! Nikon is trying to get enough flour, sugar, yeast, eggs to mix and build anew VR pin hole lens

Maybe they are all going to Europe as this appears to be the largest market for digital at this time 8)

Just here's my simple question:

If it's happened, the D200 is launched and available now, will you buy it without any hesitation or wait till the dust settle down and grab it?

I heard many dreamers about wishing getting the D200, but am wondering how they react when its specifications is not to their expectation?

Apart from the above, backfocus exposure meter, noise issue in high ISO, slow fps, lack of MP etc....

Your thoughts?

I'm very positive on the sign of the D200 in the horizon but when and where is with no affirmative answer atm.

The D90 is the ones we used to discussed prior to the relaesed of the D70s, with all speculations, none of those cameras exists.

We have to wait to see what's the real reaction from Nikon when the Canon 5D is on the hands of the consumers/ pp.

Of course, there're many rants outhere about the lack of new model of Nikon DSLR released, but again, will you make the first bite as I asked above.

Nikon, limited stocks of D2X when it came out, then no 70-200 and still so, now no D70s, lucky we have you to source stock far and wide for us Birddy.

Seems like there is an opening for a production manager to do a 12 months stint at Nikon to get supply sorted.

Anyone know when Sigma is releasing an upgrade to their SD10 camera?

Yes, I agreed!
ETA is not good to me at this stage, both of Dxxx are none in Australia since last week and the forecast of stock arriving into Australia is limited on both of them due to shortage once again.

I have few major orders coming thru by early of the month, just selling fresh air is better

For a company that has been around for as long as Nikon has, and considering it's supposed to be an 'efficient' Japanese company, it is not operated very well.

The way they are running things is a great way to lose business in an industry where you can't afford to lose customers. Prospective D70s purchasers will grow impatient and buy something else, perhaps a 350D.... then Nikon loses out on the camera and potential lens purchases for who knows how long, perhaps for ever.

Get with the programme Nikon. Get your supply and production sorted out. YOur business plan is laughable.

'Get's off podium.'
