G'Day People,

I'm new to DSLR

I brought a Bigma MC auto tele converter 2x Pentax K for my new K200D
but when i connect it to my camera with a lenns, i get a F flashing in the LCD panel.

Does this mean the tele converter is not suitable for my camera?

its flashing because the camera cannot read the lens.

either the TC has no contacts to read the lens
or the lens is an old M or K model manual lens
or the lens is not in the "A" position

By the way ... the "Bigma" is slang for the Sigma 50-500 lens but i'm presuming you mean the brand of the TC is a Sigma

another By the Way ... you will get a lot of image degradation with a 2X Tele Converter

thanks for your reply Big Red,
I'm new to all this, so it a waste of time to use tele converters.

there is three types you can use on your Pentax.

the old fully manual type ...
you need to use the manual setting on the camera like you would with an old "M" lens

or the auto exposure type which has contacts to read the lens.

or the auto exposure and auto focus type [ note the screw drive coupling]
