E.O.I Photoshop workshopAs few of you asked, here we go:
Matt.K is willing to help us to run a photoshop workshop in the near future. Would like to know, how many of you interested? if the number is more than 8 then we have to divide by two group in two sessions: How's about Saturday 3/06/06 & Saturday 1/7/06? Your thoughts! Pls. note: Registration form is required, once we settled the date of workshop. Birddog114

3/6 is the date we have put aside for a bushwalk meet, but I might be interested in 1/7
PP/PS is one of those things that you really can't grasp until it is demonstrated to you.
This time I actually know what I'm doing with screen recording (as I'm doing it for my work lately).
If Matt's interested, we can set it up with it and then either package it for members or host it on a site. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Leigh, It's great ideas and we may do that for other members. Birddog114

Can I put the following names in the first group for 3/6:
1/ Ozczecho 2/ ABG 3/ Firsty 4/ Barry 5/ Alpha_7 6/ Steffen 7/ ???? Depend on the demand another workshop will be on 1/7, if there's enough registered members. Birddog114

Leigh, that would be a great idea!
Birdy, what time would the workshop be on? If in the evening, then I can squeeze in both that and a bushwalk in the same day!
It'll be from 8:00am till 12:00pm. 4 hours. Coz, not only the workshop, there will be excercise and question time after the workshop. Birddog114

With an 8 am start? I suspect Leigh may need to be spending the night at Hotel Belmore, and even then he'll still be late. g.

Birdy as I'm meant to be bushwalking with losfp on the 3/6 could I be placed on the list for the 1/7 (if demand for the first is met). Otherwise like losfp I'll have to catch the screen capture, I didn't realise how booked out my weekends already were. - Thanks.
Crap. 8 am.

A quick note to all participants attending the workshop this Saturday (3/6) letting you know that the venue is at my house in Hurstville. I will be forwarding my details to you all via email later today. If you haven't received the email by 5 o'clock this arvo, please send me a PM.
If anyone from Sydney is able to loan us a projector for the day, that would certainly be greatly appreciated. Once again, many thanks to Birddog and Matt for organising this, especially to Matt for sharing his knowledge with us, all for the cost of a cup of coffee. It just doesn't get any better than that Andrew
Andrew,
PM Gary and he may help the group with his projector. Birddog114

Thanks for your kind offer Gary. I've just received an email from Barry letting me know he has access to a projector for the weekend and will bring it with him.
I'm still waiting to hear from Ozczecho and Firsty. Can you please PM me or email me to confirm your seats? Thanks again for all the offers of help. Andrew
Can I please be added as a possibility for 1/7. There's an AWFUL lot I don't know about PS. 3/6 is already triple-booked for me so I can't go to that session.

We don't know at this stage we will have another photoshop workshop in the near future. Coz I don't want it flooding and creates a boring atmosphere as SOH & ducks Birddog114

Craig, I'll trust you to collect notes for me, since you'll be much more comfortable than I will be tomorrow morning!!
Doubtful.
I'm not recording it it seems so I won't be running the screen capture. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Leigh, I think my laptop will be being used for the demonstrations, email me if there is something I can download and install to "Capture" the event for others.
Hmmmm, or perhaps plans have changed already Regardless Leigh let me know if I can help out, and Des I'll forward you any material gathered.
I'd like to say a big thanks to Andrew for hosting the tutorial, Barry for providing the project, Keith the yummy tea cake and most of all Matt for his great PS tutorial, I'm sure we only scratched the surface of it's power but I already have so many more methods, tools and ideas when it comes to PP'ing my shots now, and Matt's collection of A3 prints are really inspiring!
I should also mention another thanks to Andrew who drove me to and from the event, most generous Mate! Cheers!
I would also like to say thanks to Andrew and Matt. It was a good morning and showed to power of Photoshop. Also Matt's photos were excellent examples of the capabilities of the D70 and Photoshop.

I'm a bit limited at the moment with access to the internet, hence the delay in replying.
First and foremost, thank you so much Matt for your valuable time. I know that all of the participants gained a great deal of knowledge from the workshop. For a guy who makes a living from doing this to volunteer his time for the benefit of other members speaks volumes about this forum and its members. Thanks to everyone else who came along. Everybody contributed in some small way to the running of the day, whether it be a venue, tea cake, projector, biccies, soft drink, whatever. It was a real pleasure meeting Nosh, Barry and Michael and great to catch up again with Matt, Craig and Keith. Now I'll just have to put into practise what I learnt on Saturday and boy, there is a lot to remember. I'm also looking forward to seeing what the rest of the group put forward. Andrew
Yes, a big thank you to Andrew for letting us use his premises and ofcourse to Matt for showing us Photoshop Newbies around Photoshop.
Matts A3 prints were absolutely amazing showing us that once you get your colours and workflow sorted out, professional output can be achieved. Also good to put faces to names and names to net nicknames Cheers Mike
