Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

The Mercedes is heavily worked in PS. The leaning house is fine with me but eager to hear other opinions

That's interesting...I noticed that when I reviewed these images on PBase they looked a little flat and have lost some of their contrast. I just checked my settings in PS and discovered that I have been displaying them in a custom profile Adobe 2.6. I have a whole set of these profiles and occasionally use them on difficult images. Trapped myself by not resetting to my normal colour space. A lesson for me and for anybody else who might read this. Too late to alter them tonight so I'll leave them on the forum.

It's a supurb little spirit level that allows you to level the camera....not the tripod..both ways.

Creative way of touching up the distracting background in the Merc shot. Watercoloury arty shot... very unique!

Love the leaning house behind the merc. Inventive use of PP. Comes across as sorta playful & quirky which is why it appeals so much.

Good member shots too and particularly good one of Glen with "The Big Russian" showing how to stabilise an image with a backpack.

Cheers
Peter

Matt, i love those candids. I think what appeals the most is that i know the subjects. I like the way you have captured the looks of concentration on their faces as they go about taking photos of their own.

As for the Merc, i do love that style of photo however i think the leaning house is a bit distracting for me. Was it you that did similar photos in 'The Rocks' a few months ago. (seems so long ago). I love the style and i am patiently waiting to find a nice red Ferrari ot Aston Martin parked in front of a nice background so i can 'plagiarise' your idea :)

Thanks for sharing Matt...
Steve.

Being a ex-merc man just love the way the merc stands out from the surrealistic background. You should sell it to Mercedes to pay for your lusts (lens I mean).

I also agree with Killa, the candids are just that and show that when a camera is focussed on you there is not need for silly grins. . .
