Folks,

I wasn't sure where to put this but since its of a Melbourne icon (so much nicer than that metallic thing in Sydney) I figured the Melbourne group was a good start.

I bought some ND filters (solid and graduated) recently and finally got around to using them this weekend. Here is a sample of my handiwork:

Let me know what you think.

cheers,

Bruce

very, very nice Bruce.....well done.

Did you bracket exposures and merge them together or is this one original frame ?

I really like how clear the green signs to Willi Rd look. They almost look superimposed.

I assume this was taken from the pedestrian overpass, between Millers and Willi Road ??

Thanks guys,

I took the photo from a pedestrian overpass in Spotswood. Took me about 90 minutes.

Cheers,

Bruce

I assume this was with the graduated ND? Looks terrific, great colour and the sky looks almost spooky...

I think the RTA get to see this image every weekday from about 7.30 - 9am, on their surveillance cameras when the traffic banks up for about 5km....

Brilliant :)

Can we see some EXIF data please?

It's one of those pics which I'm sure you are glad you made the effort!
Well done :)

Sheepie,

Thanks. I fear my head will swell. The exif data are:

15 seconds exposure at f/18 and ISO 200. Focal length was 24 mm.

Cheers,

Bruce :D

Nicole,

I got an Arrow 72 mm ND4x (2 stops), and the cokin system filters P.121 and P.121s. I'm not sure exactly how many stops the Cokin filters are.

Cheers,

Bruce

They both seems to be ND8 (3 stops) but with different graduation

Dave,

This is a single exposure with heaps of ND filtration to compress the contrast range and yes, its the overpass between Millers and Willy Rds.

Cheers,

Bruce
